Maison Camille Giroud
2012 Chassagne-Montrachet “Les Vergers”1er Cru White barrel
Score: 89-92
Tasted: Jun 15, 2014
Drink: 2018+
Issue: 55
Producer note: Please see Issue 54 for winemaker and régisseur (domaine manager) David Croix’s comments about the 2012 vintage.
Tasting note: Here too there is a note of petrol to the expressive nose of rosemary resin, peach, pear and nectarine aromas. There is very fine concentration to the powerful and intense medium weight flavors that brim with dry extract that serves to buffer the moderately firm acid spine supporting the very rich and voluminous finish. This too will be approachable young but I would suggest giving it a minimum of 2 to 3 years first.
